When I began stitching poshaks for my own home altar, I found that off-the-shelf dresses rarely fit well. Either the neck was tight, the skirt didn't drape naturally, or stiff synthetic linings were rough against the murti.
I started Vastram by Nishtha to do this properly: cutting from pure silks, lining every piece with soft cotton malmal so it never scratches the deity, and tailoring each set to exact measurements in our Vadodara workshop.
Craftsmanship Principles

Pure Silks & Cotton Linings
We craft our poshaks using pure silks, Banarasi brocades, and soft cotton malmal linings so the garment rests comfortably and respectfully against the deity.
Traditional Zari & Hand Karigari
We use quality metallic zari wires, gota patti work, and delicate resham embroidery rather than synthetic machine prints.
Proportioned for Each Deity Form
Laddu Gopal, Radha Krishna, and Gaur Nitai each require specific cut and drape. We tailor from Size 00 to Size 22 to ensure clean proportions.
